Cement Types and Order Requirements
These are common cement specifications buyers ask us to review. The approved type, standard, grade, manufacturer and availability are checked for each order; the names below are not interchangeable.
Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC)
For concrete, masonry and general building work when the design names OPC or CEM I. Include the strength class or grade and any approved manufacturer reference.
Sulphate-Resisting Cement (SRC)
For work where the engineer specifies sulphate resistance. State the exact SRC classification or approved product; a general-purpose cement should not be substituted.
Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC)
If a blended pozzolanic cement is specified, send the project standard, grade and quantity so the team can identify the requested product.
Portland Limestone Cement (PLC)
Share the named PLC or CEM II reference, strength class and application. Suitability and any alternate make must follow the approved project schedule.
White Cement
For specified decorative, architectural or finishing work, give the approved white cement product, intended application and quantity.
Cement for Mortar and Plaster
Block laying, render and plaster mixes have their own design requirements. State whether the schedule calls for a particular masonry cement or a named Portland cement.
Bagged Cement for Trade Orders
List the cement type, bag size, number of bags or pallets and collection or delivery location. Confirm the offered make and pack size in the quotation.
Project and Staged Requirements
For recurring site deliveries, break out the quantity by cement type and requested date. Include unloading and access details for the destination.
